My aunt brought a giant container of these to the lake and we devoured every last crumb before the fireworks even started. Only 4 ingredients for the most addictive crunch ever.

Southern Firecracker Crackers are a classic, savory snack that transforms an ordinary box of saltines into an incredibly addictive, boldly flavored treat. With just four ingredients and minimal effort, the crackers absorb a zesty, spicy blend of ranch and red pepper flakes as they bake, making them perfect for parties, tailgates, or a quick pantry staple.

Southern 4-Ingredient Spicy Firecracker Crackers

Ingredients:

Saltine crackers 1 (16-ounce) box
Vegetable oil 1 cup
Ranch seasoning mix 1 packet (1 ounce)
Crushed red pepper flakes 2 to 3 tablespoons

Step-by-step Instructions:

1.Preheat and prep: Preheat the oven to 250°F. Place the saltine crackers in a large roasting pan, stockpot, or very large mixing bowl so you have room to toss them without breaking them up too much.

2.Mix the seasoning: In a medium bowl or large measuring cup, whisk together the vegetable oil, ranch seasoning mix, and crushed red pepper flakes until evenly combined.

3.Coat the crackers: Pour the seasoning mixture over the crackers a little at a time, gently tossing between additions so the crackers get coated as evenly as possible. Let them sit for 10 minutes, then toss once more.

4.Bake: Spread the crackers in an even layer on two large baking sheets or leave them in a roasting pan if it is oven-safe. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring once halfway through, until the crackers look dry, crisp, and well seasoned.

5.Cool and store: Cool completely before serving or storing. Once cooled, transfer the crackers to an airtight container and keep them at room temperature for up to 1 week.
