Step 2: Add Remaining Ingredients
Gradually mix in the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and peppermint extract. Beat until the dough is firm and smooth.

Step 3: Separate and Color
Divide the dough into two portions. Keep about 3/4 white and color the remaining 1/4 with red gel food coloring until you reach the desired shade.

Step 4: Roll and Twist
Roll small portions of each dough into long, thin ropes. Twist a red rope together with a white rope. Pinch off small pieces from the twisted ropes to form individual mints.

Step 5: Dry and Set
Let the mints air dry for 1–2 hours on parchment paper. If your twists are long, cut them into bite-sized pieces. Allow the mints to air dry for a full 24 hours before serving or storing to ensure they set properly.
