I love those recipes that we all grew up with, they are just too good to miss out on.Want to make a cake on a lazy day, or you want to make a cake that really tickles the taste buds without wrecking your diet? Then try this amazing oatmeal cake.

This is a cake with the lovely, amazing taste of oatmeal that’s right there waiting for you. You won’t be able to get enough of this, and that’s something that people honestly love. Best of all, if you’re someone watching your diet, this is a cake that’s perfect for that.

It has some sweetness to this, but it’s also not overloaded with sugar and whatnot, so you don’t have to feel guilty if you have this, and instead, you’ll be able to enjoy this, and love every single moment of this.To Make this Recipe You’ Will Need the following ingredients:

Ingredients :

1 cup uncooked rolled oats ( instant or regular, I used rolled oats)
1 1/4 cups boiling water
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

TOPPING

1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine, melted
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons cream or 3 tablespoons milk
3/4 cup flaked coconut
1/3 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Steps

Get a bowl, and then soak the oats in there for about 20 or more minutes

While these are soaking, you should measure the butter and sugar, and put this in a bowl. Take a beater, and then beat this until it becomes light and airy

Once achieved, add the vanilla and the eggs, beating this again.

Measure and sift the flower, and then sift this once more 2ith spices, soda, and whatnot that come from this.

At this point, the oats will usually be cooled and soaked, so you can fold in the soaked oats, and remove the beater from the mixture with cream.

Add the mixture of this once the oats are folded in to a baking pan, covering this in a way that’s even and pretty straightforward.

Bake this at 350 for about 40-50 minutes, or until it looks like it’s fully cooked, maybe slightly browned.

For the topping, take all of the ingredients for the topping, place this in a bowl, and then mix this all together, until it’s fully combined.

Don’t remove the cake directly from the area of the pan, but while it’s still hot, straight from the oven, take the topping and place it all over the very edge of this.

Turn your oven to broil or heat up your broiler. Place the cake in there under the broiler, or in the oven set to broil, and then broil all of this until it begins to bubble and there’s a little bit of gold to it. You’ll want to watch this carefully, but it should not be more than just a few minutes.

Let it sit to cool down, slice this up into small servings, and then serve this immediately

While it may seem like a lot of steps, this is a great cake for you to try if you need something fun and lazy to do, and if you’re a bit stumped on the kind of cake to make. You can also enjoy this without feeling guilty of the calories or other ingredients, which makes it a real winner too!
